Week 9 - Framing and Fridge
After a brief 2 week hiatus for our jaunt around the grenadines, we’re back at it!
Big items arrived this week including the double opening Dometic fridge freezer and the Truma Diesel/Electric heater/boiler!
I’ve managed to get the shower cubicle frame built partly before we left, but then realised it wasn’t square in one direction. So I've had to pull it apart, cut a load of adhesive off and reposition 🤦🏻♂️ it’s good now though and was worth the pain to get it right. Nothings as simple as it looks.
The fridge is now also fully installed and tested as well as the first of my favourite pieces of woodworking; cabinetry! So, we have a slide out spice/oil/gin basket thingy built and fitting nicely over the wheel arch box. Just needs a door fitting but that may wait until all the lower cabs are done so that they match.
Under all that we now have the pipes for hot and cold water run through, the room temperature sensor for the heater and the heater pipe for the shower room/front of living space. (Edit November 2024 - Another hindsight moment, I wish i'd included a heater vent further forward closer to the cab. It's ok as it is, but it could probably be better. - T)
Partly done (and shown in situ for the photos) are the seat frames for the dining area. Hopefully I’ll get those in properly over the next couple of days and the Truma at least secured before we head of on yet another trip… our long awaited honeymoon to Tasmania! 😃
