Week 11 - Painting, Shower enclosure and Cabinets

Tom

Alot of painting this week, even some final coats are now on. The walls and front/rear cupboards have been fully painted. The seats and bulkhead have been primed and the footboard for the bed is finally in, primed and looking a bit better than a metal bar with wood slats glued to it šŸ˜…

The other big things this week are that the shower is now boarded out ready for ā€œtankingā€ and fitting of the drains, extractors and ultimately the panelling, shower system, main door and hidden toilet door. Not much then...

Also, the inside of the side door is finally done, it couldnā€™t be put off any longer and actually ended up being one of the easier jobs this week!
Finally, Iā€™ve assembled the stove cabinet carcass that will have the gas locker and bin underneath. Meaning we now have an idea of how the space can be used. And weā€™re happy to report that we can pass by each other in the wider section of the central channel with little problems. Which is something we really wanted to achieve. So, thatā€™s a big win for my design skills.

I think this week will consist of walling in the wardrobe and toilet areas, then working out a central divider for the big kitchen cabinet and hopefully Iā€™ll get to painting the ceiling. Weā€™ve also ordered the cushions/mattress and the toilet which all have long lead times so they wonā€™t be installed for a few weeks/months unfortunately. I may however manage to plumb in the diesel feed line and pump for the Truma and box in the unit itself in the garageā€¦ weā€™ll seeā€¦
