Week 5 - Carpet, Walls and general bits

Tom

Loads of bits done this week. Largest chunk today with us both working on it all afternoon. So much done that I can’t upload all the pics in one post!

So I finally tried my hand at applying stretch carpet on the rear pillars, think it looks pretty neat to be honest! After that the back surround went on to cover the door locks, to start making it a bit more homely and to provide support for the ceiling and hide the van wiring loom across the back.

Next was getting the shore power hook up drilled and installed and then the rest of the insulation around it put in.
Then a big step toward making the space an actual camper… we got the final bed rails in! And the cross beams are all set ready for final install, we’ll wait till the walls and ceiling are in for that though. But it’s a handy work bench for the time being.

Electrical board is also now being assembled and painted (pics when finished next week), the ceiling battens are now all in and Ellen finished the shower insulation and got a lot of the ceiling vapour barrier foil done.
Last bit today was getting the big wall alcoves in. The window surround was a bit of a pain but I think we’ve blagged it.

Last thing you may notice… the double front seat is gone! We have a single front seat with swivel base arriving this week! We'll get the floor extended fully around it when it arrives.

All in all, very busy and productive week this week. And we should have walls and power next week!
