Week 16 - Cushions, Gas & TV
The foam and mattresses arrived! We finally have soft furnishings, albeit in need of upholstery on the sofa/bed extensions. Ellen’s getting on that to find someone.
Also, we had the gas installed properly earlier this week and the stove now works with the solenoid shut off wired in nicely.
Other stuff, I’ve got the doors we’d painted installed (one of them is warped so have to have it clamped for a bit to hopefully pull it back). Drawers are in and the bin drawer too, though its a bit sticky, better than flying open round a corner i suppose. I’ve just finished the drawer fronts ready for painting and also cut the big cupboard door ready for handle, catches and painting.
The other thing that’s not seen here is the grey waste tank is now installed and seems to be working, although the sink seems to drain slowly and then suddenly goes. Not sure if that’s the length of pipe before the tank, the narrow diameter of the pipe, or the breather tube is kinked. Problem that needs solving but I really don’t want to drop the tank again.
And lastly, we have our 12V smart HDTV! So now no work gets done as I have the TV on in the background!
Hoping the shower door arrives this week and the replacement parts for the heater. Oh yes, the retailer authorised me to do the PCB replacement myself thankfully. We may even get the seats upholstered next week, who knows? Though depending how long that will take we may wait till insurance pics are taken then worry about it. They want proof that its a camper and not a commercial van anymore within a certain timeframe.
Oh and we’ve been for a first little afternoon tea break in it and getting a feel for how we’ll use the space.
